We love blue in the garden and the huge, towering flower spikes of the Echium cancans has been a firm favourite of ours for years. It’s evergreen, flowering from spring through summer. It can get big with a mature size of 5 to 6 feet tall and 6 to 10 feet wide. We think that is only a good thing especially as it attracts bees, birds and butterflies so the more flower spikes the better. Cut it back in autumn, after flowering, to maintain a healthy, bushy shape and promote new growth. Easy. Lovely. Blue!
